get ready with joogs!

photo via pintrest

As I promised the other day from my long "getting ready with joogs" insta story, here's the complete one stop shop when it comes to the makeup products I use day by day! Each product is in order with when I apply them. Like always, If you wanna shop, click the highlighted links for each product! Hope you all enjoyed!

Step 1: 3-1 Primer Spray: With the help of my handy dandy sidekick, I spray the 3-1 mist all over my beauty blender to get it a little damp, then blot it all over my face till I start to notice a dewy complexion. I couldn't imagine applying my makeup to my dry, flakey skin. This helps create a smooth, even canvas to work on.

Step 2: Luminizer Primer: It's no secret that I kinda over dew it when it comes to making my skin angelic (lol see what I did their ;) The plus of this luminizer is not only do I look even more radiant, but it covers up all of my pores to make my complexion even more smooth.

Step 3: Foundation: Now that my skin is all ready to be painted on, I take a few droplets of my bareminerals liquid foundation and place teeny tiny spots all over my face, and blend it all together with my beauty blender.

Step 4: Lip Plumper: Before I continue with anything else, I take my lip plumper gloss to give me more of that pouty look. Not sure if this has a tremendously different effect, I mean its not a lip injection, but I do feel my lips tingle so something must be going on!

Step 5: Concealer: Concealer is truly sent from God above. It creates the illusion that I'm well rested on days that I look like a walking zombie in a matter of seconds! I apply this concealer in an upside down triangle underneath my eyes to wake them up.

Step 6: Contour: Clearly, I am not as skilled as a makeup professional or even someone who works over the beauty counter in Macy's, so I play it safe when it comes to contouring. I'm a littler nervous to really "go awf" with my contour, so I stick to something subtle, it's more my style anyways. I tend to go back in forth with these two contour sticks, depends on what i'm feeling that day. I simply outline my cheekbones, forehead and my nose, blend it all in and voila, a more defined face!

Step 7: Bronzer: To lock in the definition I just created with my contour stick, I simply take my bronzer and go over the areas i've contoured. Rule of thumb is to create the number 3 on your face. For example, swiping the bronzer on your forehead, cheekbones, and chin.

Step 8: Blush: I have't really been a fan of the typical powder brush, that's what I am in love with this cheek stain. It's versatile, it's buildable, and the best part is that it last for evverrrrr! This shade give you just the right around of rosey, without looking insane! To apply I make a huge grin and apply the stain to the apples of my cheeks and bring it up to mix with the bronzer. I also enjoy putting a little bit on my lips and nose for some extra color!

Step 9: Highlight: Time to shimmer and shine! I apply my highlight to the areas of my face that would naturally capture light. Right above my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose and my cupids bow!

Step 10: Eyelashes: Right before I apply my mascara, I give my lashes a boost with my curler! I take the wand and clasp it on my lashes for 30 seconds. It's as easy as that! Now time for mascara, I make the ugliest face while doing this so for the sake of your enjoyment, I didn't film it. After my lashes are curled, I take the stick and wiggle up to the top of my lashes. I usually do 2-3 coats of mascara on my lashes.

Last but not least I take my setting spray and spritz it all over my face in an X motion!

Hope this helps!

tips to buying trendy pieces: white boot edition

I always find it to be such a dichotomy when shopping for a trendy piece of clothing. Most of the time, the obvious answer seems to just to buy whatever is currently "in" for a dirt cheap price, while taking the risk that it could potentially look cheesy and fall apart after one use. While on the other hand, you can always take the route to save up some of your money and splurge on one item every once in a while. I'm a huge advocate for the last option haha.

That's exactly what I did with the white boots that i've been shamelessly exploiting all over my instagram recently! I like to find the balance of classic pieces while sprinkling in some trendy items in my wardrobe. Personally, cultivating a personal style with mostly staple items and adding on a few trendy pieces here and there can completely transform your look for the better! With the scraps of of money I've saved from odd ball jobs before I started working again, I feel in love with these white boots by Schultz and saw it as my last "treat" before working again. I've looked everywhere and unfortunately they are all sold out, buuuut I did manage to find some in different price ranges that look exactly like the ones I have! Shop Below!

ride element!

If you've been following along with my blog for some time, it's obvious that I'm someone who enjoys a mix of variety in my life. You know, I like to spice up my normal mundane routines to make them a bit more enjoyable! Life is a party, and I chose to live it like one, even if it's doing homework, running errands, etc. I always try to find a way to make it fun for myself. When it comes to working out, that's a different story. Often times I struggle with having a good time while having to sweat my butt off during an intense workout. Whoever said that "working out can be fun" is seriously disturbed. I hate to admit it, but now thanks to Ride Element, I am one of those nut cases!

In efforts to spark some excitement, I've been testing out Ride Element, a new cycling studio in Fort Lauderdale. It's shocking how much of a good time I've had during one workout class, I honestly loose track of time! If you want a glimpse what a typical cycling class is like at Ride Element; think swanky, high end club vibe with a nonstop loop of great music. Instead of during calories while dancing replace it with cycling.

Unlike other chain cycling studios, Ride Element stands out from the crowd because not only do you ride to the beat of the music being played, but a majority of the class is spent with all the lights off, with the exception of the fluorescent lights on the roof that change to the beat, how cool! My favorite part is that you don't feel as if you have to compete with anyone in your class, only yourself. It's the perfect workout if you really just want to get everything off your chest and sing your heart out to one of your favorite songs, while cramming a high intensity workout!

To take a FREE CLASS use code: FABFLORIDIAN at checkout! To get started, all you have to do is create an account, add a single class drop in to your cart and enter the code at checkout!

end result of the "bachelor experiment"

Not sure anyone if anyone who has been keeping up with this little segment of my blog has noticed that I haven't recapped the Bachelor in past 2, 3 or wait is it 4 episodes? Yes, four episodes of the Bachelor. I know that prior to the start of the season I made a vow to you all that week by week I would report my responce on the newest episode. I thought this would be a great idea! During past seasons I typically read other recaps that make me laugh more than the show did. I thought I would be the right girl to bring on this challenge! After all, I find myself to be eccentric and witty and would provide more of a fresh, young take to recapping each episode. Sad to say, I believe I have failed you all. Today i'm sharing all that went wrong with my little social experiment. During the season I hit the ground running by posting week after week, as time progressed I found myself  constantly apologizing for posting every other week, and I just stuck to that schedule.

After skimming through each show, it was almost tiring to just watch others "thirst it up" and witness all the corniness of the show. No joke, I would have to give myself a mini pep talk to publish the recap posts. It's like the show makes it almost too easy for the viewers to joke about it. Half way through I started feeling cynical and felt that I was hard to see more good out of it, so that explains why I haven't recapped the final episodes of this season.

Buuut, I do wanna keep my word like I promised in the beginning of all of this and share my final thoughts before I kiss this franchise goodbye. Here goes nothing. Okay overall I feel that the "hype" of it being "the most dramatic season yet"is a bit played out way too much and nine out of ten times the end game is predictable. I still feel weird about Colton and Cassie together. Don't get me wrong, I am one billion percent here for anyones happiness, especially when It comes to love; but I feel as if she was guilted into this. Colton seems like a great guy but his relentless persistence seems a bit creepy to me? And yes, Cassies dad did plant the seed in her mind that she just wasn't that into him, and that's okay! She could've articulated a bit better how she was feeling, but I get how intense that situation could be. I would have more respect for her if she just stuck to her word, that's just me. Personally I would've just enjoyed them mutually breaking up instead of bringing her back into the picture. I know I can't speak a whole lot on behalf on went down because I don't know them or know what they are going through.

The end of the night is mainly what I was excited for; the reveal of the bachelorette. I heard speculation of it being Hannah B. (which in fact ended up to be her) and I wasn't mad about, at first. My thoughts began to change when I witnessed the most cringey, uncomfortable 20 minutes in Bachelorette history. This has more validation to the randomness that Harrison spews lol. It was almost hard to watch between the awkward FaceTime and unfinished sentences of it all. I did feel bad for her, they kinda set her up to fail it seemed. Like, why couldn't production help her out a bit more with prompting her with things to say? Like I said Idk, but it's official, no recap next season haha. On the positive note, I will be looking forward to seeing the instagram story highlights of her because I do believe she was one of the best dressed!

Any who, thanks for being along for this little experiment.

what I wish I knew before planning to transfer

Many of you may not know, but next semester *fingers crossed* I will be transferring to the University of Central Florida! I am so beyond excited, but I don't want to jinx my acceptance just yet and get my hopes up. I should have a finalized answer by May, so wish me luck! Even though I haven't been admitted into the university yet, the process of transferring hasn't been the best. I learned a few things along the way that if I can help out just one of you that are going through this process, it would mean the world to me. Big decisions like this are tough to make and I hope I can be the one along side you knowing that it'll be alright!

Like I mentioned, things haven't been the simplest when it comes to transferring. Here is what I've learned

Take Control, Don't Heavily Rely on Others: Not only did I have to submit my high school transcript, but I also had to send through the transcripts of the other two schools I've attended. Long story short, one of the transcripts slipped through the cracks. Each week I was frantically calling both my current university and UCF confirming if they sent/received the transcript. Each call getting different answers. I wasn't going to stand by and prolong the status of my application, so I began to blow up their phones at the admissions offices. After leaving voicemail after voicemail, it was time for myself to solve the issue, not others. From there I had to send out yet another transcript. Relying on complete strangers for a major change in your life can be somewhat of a challenge and honestly frightning. I've learned that it's best to keep track of everything and if their is a problem, their is usually a quick solution you can figure out for yourself, don't be afraid to do so!

Don't Be Embarrassed: My college experience thus far has been something so far from "the best years of my life" but I am willing to change that! The further I got into the transfer process, I began to feel bit embarrassed that I would be transferring in half way through. Hellloooo, kids that are younger than me probably know more about the campus than me. But you know what? That's okay. I snapped right out of my self pity party and realized that so many student's plan is to transfer after their first two years, I'm not in this by myself! In these moments of self doubt it's far more easy to just dwell on all that could go wrong, but their are so may potentially wonderful opportunities we are ignoring!

working woman outfit inspo!

Correct me if I am wrong, but when it comes to dressing up in any "professional" matter, we tend to push ourselves into these lackluster boxes of wearing the expected frumpy, itchy-tweet body suits that are four sizes two big for our body type. Yes, of course I am being candidly dramatic just to paint this picture for you all. But just like many of you, when asked to dress "professionally" I tend to go into panic mode. After all, I still want to dress office appropriate without having to sacrifice looking cute and being myself at the same time! If I am going to be sitting in a cubical all day while getting up just to chat at the water cooler, I hope to look cute while doing that! Hypothetically speaking of course.

"Dress for the job you want, not for the job you have." It is such a profound statement that has not only stuck with me while dressing for work, but even translating it to my day to day scenarios. Right before I started my internship I was a little apprehensive with dressing up for my new office life. This sounds silly, but for a girl that wore a uniform her whole life, now was my chance at a restricted version of "adult" dress up lol. Luckily for me, my internship wasn't extremely by the books when it came to the dress code, even with that I found some great styling tips along the way that is sure to ease anyones worries.

What I Realized: My biggest tip is to try to stick to one "bold" piece that sets yourself apart from the rest. Something that makes you excited about the day ahead of you and the job that you have. Whether it be a bold lipstick color, a fun embellishment on your blouse, or a pair of funky pants. Stick to one bold item to let your personality be on display through it. Take my word for it, I've learned it the hard way, I have shown up in a very loud Lily Pulitzer dress with matching hot pink heels (how Elle Woods of me haha)... the only benefit is that it sparked conversation before a conference call lol.) By sticking to mainly a neutral palate when it comes to the rest of your ensemble, not only do you look more put together but you are ready to march your way through corporate world looking fabulous!

Shout out for instagram for saving all my obnoxious stories that can be recycled to my blog! I've shared a few of my favorite looks from my internship days down below!

random items I'm currently loving

One:  I've been playing around with how I do my makeup for a few years now and I can proudly say with a boat load of confidence that I finally found the right way that works for me! With that being said, have been wanting to try a power highlight opposed to the creamy ones that I have been using. The problem with my creamy highlight is that they just make me seem, well, oily compared to the angelic dewy shimmer we all want. So, I did some research and stumbled across this cult classic. I have only been using it for a few days now but I'm already hooked! Along with how well it last, another plus for me is that it's a universal shade so I can wear it all year 'round depending on if i'm tan or not it'll still look great!

Two: Blame it on my Italian girl genes that I contently seem like such a hairball 24/7. I can only imagine how much money I threw out the door between the countless waxes to remove my horrendous girl-stache. Over time, my skin has become more and more sensitive to getting waxed that I couldn't even bring myself to the salon to have to go through the pain of getting my lip waxed and potentially burned. Ouch. Okay, I do admit it. At first I was really skeptical about this hair removal product. I have been seeing so much hype about it all over instagram and even from my best friend, I caved. But I am here to tell you guys that they are right, this product works wonders! Kiss your expensive lip waxes goodbye for good with this little gadget that's only $20!!

Three: I am constantly adding new "resolutions" to 2019 and the newest one is to stop picking at my fingernails. I have such a problem with peeling them off and making them even more brittle! Gross, I know but don't lie we all do it. Not only is this the perfect nude pink nail shade, it also doubles as a nail strengthener. I have been using this nail polish for about a month now and I don't think my nails have ever looked this pretty! Not to mention, it's on sale!!

Four: Not sure if multi-vitamins are somewhat a placebo but oh well!! Just kidding, I have been taking these vitamins every morning for over a month and feel such a tremendous difference. About a month ago, I felt as if my energy levels were plummeting. Was I low on iron? Am I not eating enough in one day? Is it normal for myself to feel this rundown at such a young age? The answer to all my questions is inside this cute little cube. These delicious gummy vitamins fill in the gaps of what I could be missing out on during a busy day!
