hello 20!

Turning twenty really crept up on me; I am no longer a teen and have fully stepped into my adult years. Even just typing this seems wild, considering there is so much to learn and to grow through. When I was around 15 or so, I felt way more mature than I currently feel. Not so sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing haha. Anyways, I know a lot of people try to set these really unrealistic goals for themselves and ultimately feel defeated that they can't seem to accomplish them in their "decade of youth."

So instead of bungee jumping off Mount Kilimanjaro or something insane like that, what I hope to create personal goals for myself during this decade. What I hope for my twenties is to always stay true to what I want to do by putting myself first and standing up for myself when it seems necessary to do so. I also want to share kindness to everyone around me and whoever I may encounter. I hope to inspire others and grow more within myself. I think these seem somewhat do able!

Now is the time where I am beyond excited to see where life may take me; may these be the best years!

bachelor 6&7 recap

It's that time of the week again! If you watched last nights episode or not, i'm here to provide with you all my interpretation of what all went down on the Bachelor last night (and the week before!)

Last weeks episode:
I really should've been better about taking notes on the episode because I feel as if last weeks episode was a year ago. Bare with me as I do my best and try to remember... wait it's all coming back to me! Last week Colton and the crew were on yet another exotic vacation to Vietnam?? Random but still a cool location. Most of the dates consisted on dilapidated boats en route to a "sandbar" that was apparently a private island? Anyways, last week is when I realized how Colton is the saving grace to the Bachelor franchise. Props to him for being vocal in keeping who he really wants, rather than keeping who would get the show more ratings.

I was beyond "shook" to say the least that he sent home DEMI!!! No joke, I couldn't lift my jaw up off the floor after that incident. I really didn't see that one coming after watching the preview for their "almost" sultry meet up that ended in devastation! Even while I am writing this I am still floored.

This weeks episode:
Last week until hometowns!! I am still surprised how the end of the show is quickly approaching us; does it always go by this fast? I was so close to pulling the plug and looking up on Reality Steve to find out who will be the one to walk away with the proposal, but if this season has taught me one thing, is you never know really what is going to happen.

The whole "she said she said" drama between Kirpa, Tayshia, Caelynn and who else, Cassie? Was really to much to try and wrap my mind around. Here are my two solutions that seem somewhat reasonable to get down to the bottom of this unnecessary drama. 1.) Ask production if they have any recordings of what was said 2.) COLTON NEEDS TO STOP AND ASKS THE NEXT GIRL THAT STEPS INTO THE LIMO "WHAT DO YOU MEAN!" Ugggh. I was so frustrated! When Colton sent home Hannah B. she was the FORTH GIRL to walk away and say "some girls in the house aren't ready for this. We need an explanation instead of just making up scenarios in our minds! Also, when is the fence jump gonna happen??

Until next week... maybe i'll make my predictions on who will win.

fitness update

Since spring break is approaching us; it may feel as if everyone and their mother is trying out the newest "weight-loss" gimmick. I hope to be the beacon of light in that hazy grey darkness of workout fads! I am by no means an expert in exercise, I just want to share with you all what works for me and hopefully for all of you!

In high school I over tired my body into only doing extreme amounts of cardio. I was oblivious to it at the time but looking back now, I looked almost unhealthy, even though I was not!  For once in my life I was this lanky, string-bean looking thing and did everything in my power to keep up that physique. I devoted every day after school to running at least 3 miles, when I wouldn't find the time for my run, I would feel guilty and unhappy with myself.

When I started college I had a completely new schedule that wasn't as predictably ridged as my high school one. Finding the time slot for my evening run was challenging between balancing school and working a ton. This past year I have learned how to workout in a healthy way that is best for my body. Now, I aim to go to the gym 4 days a week, allowing me time to recover during the days off. I made the conscious effort to not go so hard on cardio, and pay more attention to my body as a whole. From time to time I do still enjoy long runs (If I can find the stamina to do so lol.) I don't beat myself up like I used to when I missed a workout. Now I workout to when I want to, not because I feel obligated to. With all of this being said, listen to your body!! If your not feeling well or so sore you cant move a muscle, it's alright to take a break!

If any of you are curious of my workout routine as of right now, look no further!

2019 resolutions update!

With almost two weeks into February, I personally feel as if now is a good time to update you all with a “checkpoint” of where I stand with my quote on quote resolutions. Some still standing to this day, and some that I didn’t even start to attempt yet, maybe I’ll get to them a little down the road?

If you are new here and would like to read up about my goals for 2019, check it out here!

1. Eat more holistically: I have somewhat lived up to this one thus far, minus the exception of recently getting my wisdom teeth out and having to eat ice cream on top of ice cream consecutively lol. I also eluded on my instagram stories to the “health trend” phenomenon that is celery juicing. After viewing so many positive results of what the power of the overlooked veggie has done for others, it wouldn’t be a terrible idea to try it out for  myself.

2. Wake up earlier to be more productive: Hmmmmmm. Okay, so going into this new year I was so obsessed of wanting to wake up & have he strict regimen a la Mark Wahlberg, but instead wake up at 3 maybe push it back to one more hour? I haven’t even tried to attempt this, I’m convinced my body wouldn’t even allow me to get up at such an ungodly hour. But, I have noticed a change with getting up at 9 on the days I don’t have class to get stuff done, I’m keeping my word!
3. Start reading more: Have not started this yet. Any good book recommendations?

4. If you like a song, give the whole album a try: two words, Kacey Musgraves. I don’t know what I love more, her style or her music!

5. Go to more concerts: 2019 is my year. It will be. It doesn’t even feel real but this year I am going to see my all time favorite bands; Fleetwood Mac and Vampire Weekend. Someone pinch me, I must be dreaming.

6. Listen to 5 new podcast: Well make that 4 now, thanks to The Morning Toast, I am proud to say I am self proclaimed “toaster.” Needless to say I’m obsessed and with a new episode every weeks day makes the school week better!

7. Learn yoga: I googled “bedtime yoga poses” last night and tried my best at mimicking the minuscule imagines on my phone. I need to take a real class one of these days!

8. Take more photos: Personally, for someone who hardly takes any photos, I feel as if I’m improving. Baby steps.

9. Learn to cook: NOPE. Maybe soon….. maybe.

10. Journaling: I have actually found the enjoyment of taking a break, not even ever day but whenever I can, and recap my days, feelings, whatever to my journal. I am also planning on doing a blogpost about how much I have been enjoying it!

11. Become more minimalistic, get rid of anything I don’t use or need: check out the before and after of my #konmari closet makeover!!

bachelor 4&5 recap

A little update with my self experiment of recapping The Bachelor. It's kinda tough to do, since they only give me the same predictable content that is extremely overexcited with each commercial and leaves me with not a whole lot to elaborate upon! Nevertheless, I will persist because I am by no means a quitter. Not sure if this will pan out next season, we will see.

I was going to dive right into the lackluster of last nights episode, but I just remembered I didn't recap the intensity from the previous week. Also, we all know that in order to live in the present we must revisit our past!

LAST WEEK:

All I can say, and well remember from last weeks episode is Caitlin's horrific story about her sexual assault. I felt so terrible for some girl I don't even know, but I just wanted to bust through the screen and give her the biggest hug. Since that isn't reality, the closest thing to that was to silently cry to myself because I was reminded that these things unfortunately do happened to girls and there needs to be an end with it.

I really think she is a genuine human being, not only genuine - but strong. She was able to turn something so terrible in her life and use it as a way to bring awareness for others who have experienced a similar situation.

The one on one date was really sincere and I felt the connection between her and Colton..... Waaaait, I am now remembering that during her "daytime" date was when she went on a major shopping spree to those obscure boutiques and prom dress depot!

Also, this date in Thailand was giving me all the "Crazy Rich Asian" vibes lol. Not only that, but with this season visiting Thailand and Vietnam, ABC must have been saving up from the lame destinations during Becca's season for their around the world excursions!

THIS WEEK:

To be completely transparent, I wasn't totally invested into this episode. It was one of those "scroll as you watch" type of situations. The highlight of this episode was the absurdity that is and was Elise's self inflicted dilemma. Not only was the exit rude, but the whole segment was hard to wrap my mind around. Okay, I get it that people get extremely in their head when they ultimately have to fight for the love of the same guy, but she kept confusing herself evermore. The motives for wanting his love, but then not getting enough of it, to her not being ready for the engagement? Like do you know what this show is about?

If they don't already, the producers should make all the contestants familiar or just watch a season or two so they get the gist of how the process works. I have also heard speculation about her being the next Bachelorette, so maybe this was a segway for her to wiggle her way out without being to deep into the process?

Time will tell.
