Jack Rogers Looking a Little Ruff?

Hi Everyone!

So recently I came across a little "D.I.Y" project while scrolling through Pinterest, how to clean your Jack Roger sandals! If your anything like me, you practically live in those shoes, but still wanting to make them look as if you just got them. I have to admit, before I tried this I was a bit skeptical with the DIY (after all, everyone has seen countless "Pinterest Fails" and I didn't want to be one of them!) But to my surprise it didn't turn out half bad, down below I have shared the before and after photos,  directions and materials for you to try this out for yourself!

p.s: Don't expect your sandals to come out looking perfect, but it does make a huge difference!

Tips for Having the Best School Year

Hi Everyone!

As you all know, summer is quickly coming to a finish and back to school time is here. Whether you want to face the facts or not, we are all going to be rudely awakened at the crack of dawn by our alarm clocks. I know many of you (including myself), seem to get stressed out about this, but fear no longer! Today, I'm going to give you guys useful tips to have the best school year ever.

***

 1. Be Involved

One of the best ways to get the most enjoyment out of your high school years is to be involved with everything your school has to offer. Between sports and clubs, the options are endless. Not only will you create wonderful memories with old/new friends, it looks amazing on your transcripts! Challenge yourself to try something new this year, maybe take on a leadership position or even get a club of your own started.

2. Hit the Books!

Attention all incoming freshman or anyone....listen up! This may seem like a no brainer, but do your homework and study. Looking back as a senior, one of my biggest regrets was not going the "extra mile" and pouring more time into my studies, because it all catches up with you. Yes, freshman year can be quite the struggle, but making sure to take one or two honors classes to start off your high school year is sure to pay off in the long run. (So is doing your homework, I know it may be a pain but it's something you just have to do.)

3. Catch some ZZZZ's

It is almost guaranteed that there will be days when you've procrastinated on an assignment and end up staying awake until the wee hours of the next morning.  The last thing you want to do is write the semester essay in just one night. Let's just hope this is not your daily routine. Getting a good nights rest is vital for a high school student, so is following the same sleep schedule. It is proven that the better you sleep the more information you retain, and a better mood you will be in!

4. Stay Organized

If you've known me for any amount of time, being organized and neat is something I tend to lack and try to improve on continually. I got into the habit near the end of my sophomore year of at least making my study habits, assignment dates, and other school related stuff super organized. You'll learn to love color-coding your notes and you get excited choosing a new planner for the year (Lilly or Kate?). Being organized reduces the anxiety of uncertainty of when assignments are due.

5. Have Fun, Enjoy your High School Years!
Last and most importantly, have fun! The words, "I can't wait to leave", have slipped out of my mouth countless times while in school.  But after realizing I only have a few short years before I'm off in the real world, I'm really enjoying these moments.  It's almost surreal walking past my teachers and classmates in the morning realizing by this time next year, all of this will be over. Make sure to create wonderful memories you'll cherish throughout life, these are the best of times after all! So go to every football game, don't take everything too seriously, create a blog, make the team, become class president, and most importantly, do what you love!

Jillian

Summertime Adventures with Hampton Ivy

Skinny scarf & Gingham Print calls for the perfect summertime accessory thanks to Hampton Ivy!

I am excited to announce to all of you that I recently got to collaborate with the wonderful, Hampton Ivy! Her classically coastal style is swoon worthy. It's hard to believe that the summer days are racing ahead of us, and most of the time it is hard to look presentable in the South Florida heat. Hampton Ivy's skinny scarf provides just the finishing touch that pulls any laid-back outfit together. Above are photos of three different ways I love to style the scarf. As shown in the first picture, something different to hide your average black pony tail. When the weather gets brutally hot, I have no other option than having to throw up my hair in a pony tail, the scarf is the finishing accessory that is anything far from dull! Secondly, by creating the scarf in a headband, you can channel into your favorite style icon from the sixties (For me, Jackie O of course!) Finally, by tying the scarf around any of your favorite handbags, it makes a great new addition to something old.

Be sure to Check out Hampton Ivy's website for all of her beautiful accessories and follow her on social media to never miss any of her nautical adventures!
