The most dreaded time of the year has rudely arrived, finals week. Nobody enjoys spending the last week of the school year by trying to pack/ cram in as much information as they could into their brain. But, on the bright side of everything, summer is only a day way, and my mind can't help but dream of the stress free summer days.

Considering I crown myself "Queen of Procrastination" (Sarcastically speaking of course, its something I must improve upon!) I put together a few of my favorite summer must haves that are sure to send anyone to an Island State of Mind! I couldn't help resist including Kate Spades newest tropical summer line (Just in time for their surprise sale that going on)! Who would disagree to the "I Need a Vacation" tote, something we all relate to! What are your favorite summer must haves? I would love to know, make sure to leave a comment down below!

P.S: Nordstrom is hosting their "Half Yearly Sale" which is the perfect time to stock up on all your summer desires, savings up to 40% off now until June 5th!

Orange Ya Glad..?

Over the weekend I decided to play the "typical tourist" in my own town.  I visited a landmark which has been apart of my town for over 50 years.  There have so many times I'd drive past the brightly colored building promising myself that I will make a stop.  So, I did just that. The weather was so perfect this weekend, so I drove down the street to check it out and let me say they have the absolute best key lime pie ever! I definitely suggest being a tourist in your own town so you can discover all the history that is literally right in your own back yard! I plan to do this more often and I can't wait to check out everything my town has to offer!

My Outfit: Pants: J.Crew Factory  Blouse: J.Crew (Old) Earrings: Lauren Conrad Cluster Pearls Shoes: BCBG (Old) Necklace: Kate Spade Statement Necklace (Old) Watch:  Kate Spade

Summer Countdown!

It's bittersweet realizing that I'm heading into the final stretch of my junior year (I have already started counting down the days till the year is finished).  This year alone, I've made such incredible memories with amazing people, faced new and exciting experiences along the way, and strived to do my best in the leadership role of my schools fashion club.  There were some not so great moments too where I literally wanted to just break down, throw in the towel, and just binge watch The Office.  In many ways the course of this year revealed things about myself that I didn't even think I was capable of doing!

At the moment, I'm trying to focus on gearing up for finals and my last SAT which is such a challenge considering my mind is already on vacation time! The last 3 weeks of school will be quite eventful, being that prom is next weekend, and there will be many other exciting things that round out the end of the school year.

Why I started Fabulously Floridian

Hi Everyone!

Even though I'm new to the whole vast world of blogging, I wanted to share with everyone the making of Fabulously Floridian! You have no idea how much I enjoy each and every aspect of blogging.  It may seem a little cliche, but I feel as if I have found my little “niche”.  Like, ya know, a little activity or hobby that makes someone unique and happy.  No matter what your interests are, there’s that one thing that always seems to bring you a certain rush.  No I’m not talking about a one-too many cups of coffee rush, or a sweets type of rush, but the kind of energy that motivates you.  The kind of energy that almost feels as if you can tackle anything that may come your way.  Even though I still have a lot to learn and improve on down the road, blogging has been the perfect way to combine two things I really enjoy….writing and fashion!

I have always loved writing.  I can distinctly remember this one Christmas when I was probably 7 years old and I got this giant “Camp Rock” notebook. (Funny, I still have that notebook to this day and from time to time will read what I wrote in it. haha).  I kid you not, that notebook became one of my favorite all time gifts.  I used to write countless stories involving things I adored at the time, including the Jonas Brothers….it was 2007 after all, to mysteries, and the list goes on.  Writing has always been a platform of entertainment for me.

Now my other love, fashion.  Fashion is way more than what society views as something “vain”.  Fashion to me means developing your own sense of personal style and has really shaped me to become a more confident individual.  Like that feeling you get when you try on that one dress you’ve been eyeing for a while and you feel as if nothing or nobody can stop you from chasing after what you want.

For a majority of my freshman year and well into my sophomore year of high school, my focus on going to college was to major in fashion and somehow land a job in the industry.  When I began my junior year, I realized maybe it wasn't for me anymore.  I felt as if I had more of an interest in politics and law for a career.   Starting my blog was perfect because even though fashion wasn’t the career path I wanted to follow anymore, blogging let’s me display and express what I love...fashion and writing.

A few months ago, I had a chance to meet for lunch with a friend of my mom’s from high school, Amy Lagae, who shared a lot of insight with me about her career path in the magazine industry.  Amy worked for Vogue….Yes, this is the Vogue, the world renowned fashion magazine.  I was so captivated by all of the stories she shared with me, including a little insight about Anna Wintour, Editor-In-Chief, and Lauren Weisberger, Author of The Devil Wears Prada.  Amy suggested that blogging would be a wonderful way for me to express something I’m passionate about.  That’s it!  That was the little spark that ignited my interest to start my own blog.

I also had inspiration from one of my most admired bloggers, Sarah Vickers from classygirlswearpearls.com.  I emailed Sarah and was so surprised to get a response right back! Everything Amy and Sarah shared with me was so encouraging and made me want to chase after this even more...and so began Fabulously Floridian!

I'm so beyond thrilled to be sharing my posts with everyone.  I hope that I can be the same inspiration to somebody reading my blog like how others have been to me!

Until next time,

Spring Fever!

Hey Everyone!

I hope that you all are enjoying your time off if you are on Spring Break! (Unlike me who is crawling just to finish this week). Currently my school is still in session and it's so difficult hearing about other people's activities for Spring Break when you still have to go to school!

I want to first apologize for my lack of blogging. I know, I know, I shouldn't be making excuses but I always get so busy with school right before break! Recently, I’ve been reading up about actually planning your blogpost, seems like that would come in handy! I’m always so intrigued by my fellow bloggers little tips and tricks to help improve my blog, as well as anything else.

Surprisingly, yesterday my friend Rachel and I had absolutely no homework. So what better way to spend the afternoon than taking some shots? Living in Florida, I sometimes tend to forget how beautiful and natural my state really is. We visited a park which takes you on a breathtaking walk literally through the everglades. It was hilarious because we’ve been wanting to know for the longest time how to get back there and we just happened to find our way yesterday.

Alright, so I’m kinda obsessing over these suede (shown in the pictures) shoes I found at J.Crew last week. I’ve been searching for a pair like them for such a long time! I completed my “Spring Inspired” outfit with these colorfully-scalloped Lilly shorts and a white blouse to help beat the heat.
